Agility

Puppy Agility

A 6 week session for teams bound for the competition ring. You and your pup will learn all the fundamentals necessary to prepare for a great agility career, introduces obstacle performance, clicker and motivational games, confidence building exercises, moving as a team, basic handling skills. Prerequisite: Companion Dog Level II.

Agility Attention

A 6 week session teaching your dog to respond to your physical and verbal cues. We will work on stationary attention for lead out stays at the start line, table, and contacts along with working attention and stay through external distractions and handler motion. Your dog will learn to move to your changes in direction, look for hand cues, and read your acceleration or deceleration. Rewards of food and play will be incorporated. Prerequisite: CD Level I or Instructor Approval.

 

Agility Introduction

This 6 week session introduces obstacle performance on all agility equipment using clicker games, motivation and confidence building. Prerequisite: Dogs must be 10 months of age and have taken Companion Dog Level 1 or equivalent.

Handling Level I

A 6 week session introducing handling basics of sequencing, teaches direction changes, and basic handling on the flat. This session also continues refining obstacle performance criteria. Prerequisite: Agility Introduction.

Handling Level II

A 6 week session refining handling skills, introduces course analysis, continues refining obstacle performance criteria. Prerequisite: Handling Level I

Advanced Handling

A 6 week session focusing on handling skills for competition, includes course analysis and open/advanced course work.  Perquisite: 1 yr. of age, Handling Level II, confident and successful obstacle performance.

Competition Agility

A 6 week session focusing on complex handling skills, course analysis and excellent/masters course work, as well as competition strategies. Prerequisite: 1 yr. of age, Advanced Handling, confident and successful obstacle performance.

Agility Shorts

A 4 week session pinpointing different areas of agility performance such as weave pole performance; front, rear and blind crosses; jumping skills; and contact performance. Prerequisite: Handling level I, 12 mos. of age.

Distance Handling

A 4 week session working specifically on lateral and sending skills.  Improving your dogs ability to work away from you. Whether you need distance for games (Gamblers, FAST, Chances) or distance in your regular classes, this is the class for you! Limited to 6 working participants.  Prerequisite: Handling Level II and a Stay.

 

Running A-Frame

A private or semi-private session teaching the various stages of the Rachel Saunder's box method of a running a-frame contact.  Call the office to book a lesson. Prerequisite: Clicker or shaping skills.
