Emma has been training dogs for more than 20 years, and is currently the Canine Behavior Training Consultant for the VCA Rotherwood Animal Hospital in Newton, MA. She specializes in managing and rehabilitating the reactive and aggressive dog. Emma is a faculty member of Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior as well as the Karen Pryor Clicker Expo conferences.

In 2005 Emma authored the renowned "Click to Calm" outlining her journey of rehabilitation with her reactive golden retriever Ben. Emma's "Click to Calm" method has become a staple for dog owners and trainers alike to help dogs overcome reactivity and aggression. She gives "Click to Calm" seminars around the world, teaching others how to manage and rehabilitate reactive and aggressive dogs. In 2014 Emma authored "Teaching a Reactive Dog Class: The Journey from Reactivity to Reliability" enabling other trainers to reach more dog owners who need to manage their dogs. Emma is sought after as a speaker at conferences and symposiums such as the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Tufts Canine Behavior Symposium and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.  Emma has also written several articles for Clean Run magazine.

Emma is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and  a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) of the Canine International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and holds a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.  Emma is an avid competitor in obedience and agility and enjoys training and competing with her dogs. She shares her life with her husband, Greg, and their four clicker-trained dogs—three Golden Retrievers, Lizzie-Taylor, Kayden-Blue, Austyn-Roque, and a Papillon, Wylie-Rae.  Kayden-Blue has earned his AKC Excellent Standard and Jumpers titles and Austyn-Roque (MACH 2 Zens Austyn This Boy’s Got Drive) earned his AKC MACH2 title in November 2018.
