Christina has been taking obedience and agility lessons at SureFire since 2017 when she adopted her second rescue dog, Brisket. At 10 weeks old Brisket was a lively, intelligent Pitbull/Boxer/Husky/Beagle mix with a love for climbing on tables, furniture and fearlessly ascending the A-frame at the local park. After completing the SureFire Companion Dog levels 1 and 2, the instructors encouraged Christina to try an Intro to Agility class where everyone realized Brisket had a natural ability for the sport. Christina started assiting Companion Dog 1 classes at SureFire in 2019.
Christina has owned dogs for over 12 years in various sizes and breeds. She began assisting obedience level one classes at SureFire in early 2019. Along with Brisket, Christina has a Pitbull/Chow/Shepherd/All American Mutt named Moey (Morgan) at home along with her soon-to-be husband, Adam, and his beagle mix Magpie. In the summer of 2016, Christina and Adam began actively fostering dogs at Big Hair Animal Rescue and training them in basic commands which to improve their chances for adoption. Christina is currently the Puppy Coordination Specialist & one of the Foster and Adoption Coordinators for the older dogs for the rescue.
Christina is currently working to get Brisket into competitive level agility, and plans to one day train Moey to be a therapy dog.
When not training in agility, Brisket enjoys spending time with her only brother, Bogey. Christina enjoys drinking Iced Coffee, being outside, shopping for used furniture and antiques she doesn’t need, and convincing her family and friends to adopt the rescue dogs she is fostering.
